Origins and Evolution for 5 Buddhas Full Moon

Written by Kim

Origins of the title, and the evolution of the artwork for "5 Buddhas Full Moon"

The album concept for "5 Buddhas Full Moon" was based on the idea that stems from the concept of "one-ness" or "is-ness" and as everything is downloaded on this earthly plane into "the one appearing as many"..

It was fun to see the 5 Buddhas walking on a moonlit night.  Each of the Buddha's is of course individual in the outer physical "ness" but the source of each is sll the same consciousness; from each cell, each breath it's all composed of one pure eminent emanation and has always been so from the theory of the big bang which is still banging along as the all explodes into more and more and more. So "5 Buddhas Full Moon is a beautiful image of each of us being one of the 5 Buddhas.

The original title of the cd was "5" a favorite number of mine and when the title song began appearing in my mind on the day of "Buddha Full Moon" (according to my calendar) I put the two ideas together and the song became "5 Buddhas Full Moon". After the piece became more tangible I spent days just "falling" into the electric repetition in my headphones.  Sometimes this is the way music forms..at least for me.  It's as if by my listening to it repeatedly the music begins to live.  It may seem fanciful but I feel the "pieces" write themselves and repeated listening to them gives them the doorway to enter into this third dimension.  My wife Marguerite created the hand drawn artwork for "5 Buddhas" which helped portray and clarify the vision of the 5 Buddhas under one moon.  While the concept of "oneness" is an esoteric theory of consciousness the idea of "Buddha Mind" or "Buddha Consciousness" is totally grokable when we see the "essence" of the Buddha being that which we all are.

Marguerite had several ideas for the cd artwork.  The darker sketch is actually her first version of the concept. (#4).
I love the single face portraits of each Buddhic Being.(#1)  Marg was partial to the "Dancing Buddhas"(#2) and drew the final piece basically because Jim Wood and I liked what appeared to be forming the best. It was fun to see her bring these beings to life.

When Jim got his hands on the final sketch he merged it with actual photography from Mount Shasta sky and brought it to life.  He then used a photo of full moon glow around the moon with the Buddha faces in it and merged the two drawings together.  When Jim showed me the finished piece I nearly jumped out of my shoes.  I know that all artists out there can relate to this...when manifestations begin appearing it is such a connected positive feeling!
