East Edge of the Milky Way
Transport Yourself
"East Edge of the Milky Way" is a set of 11 instrumental pieces typifying Kim's ambient textural layering. This compilation of music dances somewhere between recognizable instruments such as piano and guitar and other worldly sounds.
All of the instrumentation leaves the listener in an interesting place of acceptance even though the sounds are unique and new.
The title piece "East Edge of the Milky Way" is a combination of sonic wind sounds and long glitchy white noise tracks that immediately transports the listener to somewhere just above the surface of the earth... with extended listening one can find themselves suspended in the blanket of stars which compose what we call the Milky Way.
Another piece called "Greenstars" was inspired in Kim's garden and is focused around the sound of a classical guitar which seems to call and draw in etherial bells. These instruments sing a new yet ancient melody which inspires connection to the embedded archetypes of traditional sounds while stretching the listener's inner ear towards drawing in the cosmic interfacing of non physical and devic sounds. Sometimes nature can play tricks with us especially if we meditate in the presence of these gentle beings. Sounds like water and birdsong are high spiritual sounds and yet somewhat concrete images in our familiarity of nature but the mind's ear can hear many more nuanced resonances and using tweaked electronic samples the listener can take journeys into dream states that bridge the dimensions.
